My Concession Speech

...4 years and it really is a great oppritunity to watch who our leaders will be for the next 4 years, and if you dont, well then you have no reason to complain about them. My interest started right away when the Democratic primaries were starting to occur. As most people know, i tend to lean very democratic, and show alot of hatrid for George Bush, but that is not completly true, as i am not Anti-Bush. For the people who do want to know why, it is because of my dad. (as a side note my dad is moderate, he goes both ways and is not left or right wing) Last Febuary around tax time, my dad came down to me while i was on the computer one day, and started crying right in front of me..something i had never seen before, and never wanted to see. He was crying because of how high the taxes were for us, how the taxes were SO high, that we may not be able to pay off the mortgage, and not be able to live here and might have to move away (and you guys say mill creek people are rich). Ever since Bush has taken office, my Dad constantly has been making less and less money. His business is turning into close to nothing of what it was and were struggling. With that in mind, and over the previous elections supporting the democratic nominee, i had real reason this time to support the nominee. With that said overall, i do lean democratic, although i do support few conservative issues, for the most part my beliefs lie with the Democrat Party. When the primaries were getting close we had a whole handful of candidates running for the nomination. The one who i liked right away was Howard Dean, i liked him for his very Anti-War values (because at the time i was very anti-war, now i dont support it but am not as against it) i stuck with Howard Dean throughout it, and he lost pretty bad in the primaries because of his scattered bad attiude and how he would outburst, but i liked the aggressive side of him. The final two contenders were John Edwards and of course John Kerry, who ended up winning the Primaries and nomination by a good amount. Soon John Edwards joined as the running mate of John Kerry, and it was a team for America, and a team i thought it was very strong, and good to give America a fresh start. I supported John Kerry and his strong debating skills, his friendly tone and how he could connect with democrats. I supported his middle class tax cut, his support for gay marriage which i believe is a RIGHT for all people to make, not just Christians who steal the rights from non-religious people. His support for abortion in the FIRST AND SECOND trimester, which is a womans right and only a womans right. Overall the idea of change is what triggered my decision, and kept me with John Kerry for President. As Election Day approached, the polls showed a race so close that it could not be decided from tracking polls. For the first time i could get a bumper sticker and be able to express myself, while a few times on the road i would get honked at some people would give me a thumbs up. As we entered Election Day, the polls suggested a dead heat, and either candidate could win pending certain ways people polled. The turnout was KEY, i figured that if 115 million votes or below people voted George Bush would win, and if it went over 115 million, then John Kerry would easily win. Well as started getting poll results that night, we had the usual load of no surprises, but it all came down to two states. Florida and Ohio, at almost 11 PM, Florida went to George W. Bush, cornering John Kerry to Ohio being a must win or else. Well as we entered this morning at about 1030, John Kerry conceded the election to George W. Bush, due to the fact that the 135000 vote d...
