... be much older that the girl. That is definately unfair, as this mature man would wed a young girl, as young as 10 years old, with the hope of making her a young mother. A 10 year old girl is still a child, not mature physically nor mentally. Lots of medical complications could occur in that child's life. Girls and boys were socialised differently. Boys were allowed to leave the house, and 'hang out' with friends and play sports like football, basketball, cricket etc., while girls had to stay home and do household chores or play indoor games. It irritates me to think that some of these mothers and other women in the society would just accept and encourage such actions. One would think that they would stand up for their daughters and fight for equality. ...
