American Patriotism Today
...the American flag or with sayings, such as, “God Bless America” or “We Will Never Forget” in reference to September 11. These displays of patriotism are of the most commonly seen and probably the easiest way for Americans to show their pride for their country. Many Americans also show their patriotism trough their attire. Clothing is being produced that has images of the American flag. People are able to purchase shirts, pants, hats, scarves, and oddly enough socks and underwear that are patriotic. Americans are becoming walking symbols of patriotism. In this election year Presidential candidates are telling Americans that they are full of patriotism. They show us this by attaching small pins of the American flag to their suit lapels. They also hold huge political rally’s with an endless sea of red, white, and blue posters, balloons, and confetti. Americans are asked by the candidates to show their patriotism by getting out to the poles on election day and exercising their rights to vote. Many people in America have loved ones who are in the Armed Forces. These people show support for their loved ones through their displays of patriotism.
