Plagues and disease swept over the empire causing a serious population decrease. This caused taxes to increase, in turn causing an economic drought. The military and armies began to decline. Perhaps most importantly to the Roman Empire Fall, is the fact that cultural life began to become less and less creative. Cultural life decayed. Art, architecture, and literature creativity declined. The economic vigor and unique cultural the defined early Rome in its glory days became almost non-existent. One emperor tried to reverse the fall by using Christianity to unify the country. He also improved tax collection. However, in the end his attempt to the save the empire failed. The collapse of Rome caused a dramatic impact on the outcome of how the world is at present.
