Bearskin (Fairytale)
...any situations where good can triumph over evil; it just doesn’t have to be with people. It can be with nature or even something being selected over another item. Another example of good triumphing over evil was when the soldier was on the verge of dying in the beginning, but still managed to hold on. These types of examples are endless, not only in “Bearskin”, but all fairy tales that have ever been written. Another thing that “Bearskin” makes me believe in is that courage is everlasting. There are many different types of courage a person may experience a few might be beating up a bully, or doing something they never thought was possible. In “Bearskin”, the soldier shows many things that consist of courage, such as the soldier slaying the bear to protect his own life. Courage also comes in all shapes and sizes, such as bearskin slaying the bear to save his own life. Another example would be when the soldier is ridiculed in the town and stared at. He still manages to go about his business and not be pushed away. Finally, the tale “Bearskin”, made me believe that beauty is only skin deep. The word beauty can be taken many ways as well, such as a beautiful woman, a beautiful figure, and even a beautiful job. A good example of beauty in Bearskin would have been when the daughter decides to marry the soldier even though he is a ugly beast, beauty is only skin deep.
