The metric system was finally legalized in 1795(Iona, “metric” 70b). Why did it have to be legalized? I also have some other cool and interesting facts to share. Why can’t the just stick to the original plans if that is what they agreed with? Only seventeen nations had adopted the metric system by 1875(Barrows “metric” The World Book 441). If this was such a great system then why did only seventeen nations have the system in use after almost a hundred years?
