Sir Gawain and the Green Knight
...the Green Knight is to get his one revenge shot. Gaiwan shows bravery by stepping up to plate while the other knights are too afraid of the task. The next quality he possess is his worth to King Arthur, by accepting the challenge he shows where his heart is by proving he is the most worthy knight King Arthur has. So then, after Gaiwan takes his one blow, and severs the Green Knight’s head, he has to stay loyal to his words and let the Green Knight return the favor. So once again Sir Gaiwan showing his dependability, sets out on his long journey to find the mysterious Green Knight, which resides in the Green Chapel. Sir Gawain, at this point of the story shows maybe his most important quality at this point in the story, which is courage. He displays this trait well, because how many people do you know are willing to take a journey knowing you may not come back. In his journey he encounters a mansion with a knight that ask him to come and stay in the house with him and his wife while he’s on his journey. While at the home, Gaiwain encounters many different temptations. While the man of the house is gone hunting during the day, the man’s wife tries to make numerous sexual advances at Gaiwain. Gaiwain trying not to dishonor himself, refuses the advance at first with the woman just giving him innocent kisses. So when the man of the house returns, Gaiwain return to innocent kisses to him trying to be loyal. Another temptation by the women is when she offers Sir Gaiwain a gold ring.
