Then he was accepted to the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training Program. Captian O'Grady was stationed in Korea, Germany and Italy. He flew countless NATO missions in F-16 fighter jets. On June 1, 1995 he returned from a week long training class for Operation Deny Flight at Aviano Airbase. He was asked if he would like to fly a routine reconasisance mission over Bosnia and earn an extra $150 bucks. These were not dangerous mission, or atleast until this one. It was not his turn to fly but since his best friend Wilbur Wright was flying he said yes. No fighter pilot had been shot down since Desert Storm in 1991. Soon after entering the 45th parrallel in Northern Bosnia Wilbur's alarms went off. This wasnt a typical sortie after all. Not long after Wilburs scare it happened. Nine seconds after Scotts alarms went off a missle exploded between him and Wilbur's plane. Within another few seconds Scotts plane was hit by a missle in the jets nose.
