...e way that the Americans gained control over themselves was creating a democratic republic type of government which differed greatly of the monarchial type of government that they were used to. For the democratic government allowed the people to govern themselves, and they did this by allowing the people to vote on a cause in which they believed in. However, not every one was able to vote, only men of wealth or property abundance were eligible. There were many great outcomes that the Americans had, but how they went about was not the best. For example, the enslavement of Africans was inhumane and still holds heavy in Americans today. Even though there were also white slaves, they were usually indentured slaves whose service was only required for a given time, then they were set free. On the other hand, this some what does not amount to treatment of the Native Americans. When the English first settled they had Inflicted them with disease which devastated their population, abused, enslaved, and took away their land just because they had the naval power to do so.
