...were his first publications. By the year of 1723, Franklin and his half-brother, James, faced many differences of opinion, thus leading to Franklin’s move to Philadelphia as a printer. After a year of living there, he moved to London for two years. Franklin then moved back to Philadelphia where he grew popular in the printing world. His most successful work was the annual Poor Richard’s Almanac. It’s popularity among the colonies was second only to the Bible. When Franklin was 42 of age, he had conquered the printing world and wanted to move onto bigger and better things. He later gained recognition for his philanthropy and found time to study science and politics. Because of all of his accomplishments as a printer, his name was growing popular not only in the colonies but in Europe as well. Franklin later went on to purse politics full time. During his political reign, Franklin again published his thoughts about “America’s Revolution.” In May of 1775, Franklin became a member of the Continental Congress.
