In order to increase the speed at which the ball is thrown, the person would have to increase the kinetic energy exerted on the ball, in order to compensate for the air friction acting on the baseball. The only problem of this display is that, it is somewhat realistic. It was presented to us in a controlled environment, but in reality, there would be other factors that would come into play, such as if the wind started to blow.
