Prison for Williams proved to be a culture shock beyond belief. Prison took from him a value that most hold near and dear, material comfort. Williams had to learn to adapt to an environment that provided him with no rewards, no respect, and constant degradation. He basically had to learn how not to want material possessions because they were no longer obtainable. Finally, in his journey for internal freedom and pursuit of redemption he finds it in a value that makes everyone feel good, helping those in need.
