The general ideal of the paper is that everyone is shocked that anything of this sort could happen and that they will do anything possible to find the person responsible. He was questioned then later released. Jackson Daily News the front cover read Rifle Found, Believed Gun that Killed Evers. The Jackson Daily news was the only newspaper that I found to cover the slaying over many days. June 12 was telling how he died and what was going on. On the 13th the FBI had a suspect and let him go. The headline reads White Man Freed in Evers Slaying. . They only had three clues a rifle, a spent bullet and a finge...
