Why or why not? Eighty-five percent of the people interviewed answered yes to the first question, while the other fifteen percent recalled some vague ideas after I explained what it was. Ninety-five percent of the people surveyed support stem cell research, leaving five percent of non-supporters. Almost ninety percent of the people surveyed felt that if their tax dollars were going to aid stem cell research, then that was a good thing. The other ten percent felt they had no choice in where their tax dollars were going, so it didn’t matter to them either way. All but ten percent of the people surveyed agreed that stem cell research was a worthwhile cause and research should be continued.
