...mask on him struggling so much for his breath and trying to talk. He said a last few words before he died but the pain in trying to know what he was saying hurt. I am sure he said he loved us but then again it could have just been my imagination and to this day I will never know. That was the first time I ever saw anyone dying. Midnight was a very odd time for him to die. We knew before hand he was going to die which sometimes it is better known. Other times it isn’t. When the hospital called my grandmother to come in and see him as the nurses thought that he wasn’t going to make it it must have only been around 9.30pm. Time the whole family got there it was 10 and those two hours only seemed like 5 minutes. It seemed as if they were the quickest hours in my entire life. It's as if life just flashed before me. When he did pass away it was as if we were the only family up in the entire town. That night the air felt so silent. I have to give some good grace to my grandfather though, especially as he was healthy for a while in his old age, he was 79 when he passed away. He would have been 80 this year.
