Method Before we started the experiment we had to collect all the equipment we needed: 100cm beaker, 10 pieces of magnesium, 160 cm of water, 240 cm of hydrochloric acid and also a stop watch, Then we set up the experiment as shown in the diagram and started the experiment. We put the amount needed of water and hydrochloric acid into the beaker shown on the table drawn below the method, We then added a the right size of magnesium into the beaker with water and hydrochloric acid and then started timing straight away. We watched the magnesium start to fizz in the beaker with the two solutions until it had completely disappeared from the beaker, then we stopped the clock and took the time and added it to the results table.
