Wacky friend
.... There was this one time where we were in a party old people telling stories and we got really bored of their stories. We left the area and we told each other how boring they were. We told each other how bored we were with them and laughed at how we can make fun of them. He even made the situation better by telling “corny” jokes. The jokes weren’t that funny but the way he tells them makes me laugh really hard. Only lately have I appreciated his comic companionship. Ever since we were kids he was always there to talk to but now at college we don’t spend as much time. The people here are less entertaining and their companionship just isn’t the same. One of the most relaxing things to look at is a mother duck being followed by her baby ducklings in the pond. These ducks swim so smoothly on the water, which makes them such a view. Swimming smoothly is just on the surface what we don’t see is that they kick the water underneath to stay afloat. They struggle so much with their legs in order to swim gracefully. This act of ducks symbolizes a lot in the life of my friend. He always wears a smile in his face. Everyone thinks of him as someone who doesn’t have any problems in life because of the way he acts. He is always misjudged as always carefree and taking life easily. What they don’t see is that he has a lot of problems in his family and all that happiness is only a mask. He always tells me how his family is distant and not having a communication with each other. The problems with his family started when his father built his own company and became rich. Daddy didn’t have any more time for the family and it became all work work work. His mother is always attending social functions with her friends, which is very time consuming. His siblings are always out with their own friends and not giving any time for family at all. Deep inside he wishes that they never became rich and be happy as a family. He doesn’t want to show this side to others because he knows that people will look at him very differently. The first time he told me this I was so shocked. I have learned that the surface of a person is not what it seems. It is a fact that birds fly south during the winter. The most amazing birds that fly south during the winter are ducks. They fly in a V formation making sure that each one of them is safely flying. If one of these ducks gets hurt during flight one of the ducks will stay with it while the rest will go ahead. Both of the ducks left behind will catch...
