When I first sat down to observe my surroundings, the first thing I noticed was the deafening cry of the black crows. A solitary midnight black crow was perched majestically on top the clay-red roof of my neighbor. It raised its head and let out many caws, like a rooster atop a barn at sunrise. There was a duration of shouts and answers between that crow and some other ones that were not visible to me, like that of a drill sergeant and his new recruits. After a while, the crow lazily flapped its wings, like the pages of a book burning in a fire, as it flew past my head.
