... how far the sidewalk is, but there isn’t, it is just how far one’s eyes can see till. The point where one can’t see past of is the vanishing point. It is on the horizon line, and directs many lines of the painting to it. My second application of Locating the Vanishing Point, is in a article in the newspaper. Just recently, Ichiro Suzuki broke the all time record for hits in a single season, held by George Sisler. The previous record held by Sisler was 257 hits, in 1920 playing for the St. Louis Browns. Ichiro broke the record by hitting 262 hits, in 2004 playing for the Seattle Mariners. Many people thought that the asymptotic limit was the record made by Sisler. In fact there is no specific limit of a number of hits that a person cannot surpass. The most hits a person can get, depends on the number of at-bats the person gets, the type of field the person plays in, the speed the person possess. Only two people ever challenged to break the record by Sisler, in 1929 Bill Terry had 254 hits, and in 1930 Lefty O’Doul also had 254 hits. My application of Irrational Thinking is in the form of a chart. The chart shows the number of people living with HIV-AIDS, from 1980 to 2003. It also shows the type of people who have HIV-AIDS. There is a steady increase in both the number of people with HIV-AIDS, and the number of people from different areas. From this graph we can predict that the number of people with HIV-AIDS will increase year by year, forever. From the graph that shows the number of people getting HIV-AIDS in one year, one can’t determine how many people get HIV-AIDS in a month, in a ...
