How does it have that power? We the people vote on these things. We are a government, of the people, by the people, and for the people. In order to protect the rights of citizens as well as create an environment of equality, the government is fragmented into several divisions. Overall, the level of government we are covering in this course in the federal government, or the national government. In this branch, there are three separate branches, the executive, which is the President, the legislative, the House of Representatives and Congress and the judiciary branch, which is the Supreme Court. Each branch has specific responsibilities, however, the power between the three is split equally as seen in the infamous case, Marbury VS Madison.
