Work Breakdown Structure Almost all project management schools of thinking have agreed on establishing a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) as a preliminary step in any given project. The WBS may change in its form but it is a tool that divides the project into levels of details down to actual activities that are performed by project team members in conjunction with project implementation. This level of detail is known as the Work Package. Reaching this level of detail means that the project deliverables are defined. Time Schedule Upon defining the work packages of the project, time consumption for each work package can be calculated based on historical experience.
