The Program that Changed My Life

...of 1989, I went to Scripps College in California and studied Precalculus during Session I. For Session I of 1990, I went to Franklin & Marshall University and studied Calculus. Lastly, for Session I of 1991, I went back to F&M and studied Computer Science I, now known as the Theoretical Foundations of Computer Science. For me, the best part of CTY was the opportunity for self-paced study. In my first three weeks of CTY, I finished off Algebra I, Algebra II, and Analytic Geometry, all before hitting eighth grade, and the following year, I finished off Calculus BC (and scored a 5 on the AP exam) before I got to high school. The CS course was the most exciting course because, oddly, it really opened my eyes to mathematics.
