...ient frequently brings up the issue of poor service, damaging the name and image of the clinic and doctors. One day survey was done to identify the problem area. Shortage of the staff was identified as much of the time was spend on searching and sorting the information. Manual appointment booking in a logbook was also seen. We spend most of the time with medical students (who are practicing in the same clinic) trying to identifying the problem area. These students were representing the clinic and were very helpful to us, as other member were very busy managing the patient’s. Following requirement was recorded. 1. Clinic has very poor information management system. 2. Immediate need was identified for computerise the patient’s data. 3. Systematic way for searching and sorting the patient file. 4. Immediate need for electronic appointment booking system. We also visited Ty Bryn Surgery, which is located in Trethomas, Caerphilly where similar kind of problem was identified. On the other hand, every General Practitioner needs some time to approach a patient.
