Sports Influence
...try, Panama, everybody follow sports. The entire country is paralyzed when the soccer or baseball teams are playing. We have soccer, basketball, football but our sport is baseball. We finish thirds in 2003 juvenile league and that’s the team that’s coming with everything for next season. Our stadiums aren’t as develop technologically and well looking like the ones in the states but we have all that’s needed. Baseball has showed me the big influence sports have in American culture. I’ve been living for 3 months in Boston and the all this time everything has something to do with baseball. I’ve observe the love and respect people here has for their city and the sport. Its amazing how people just go out and celebrates about what’s happening: their home team playing the World Series. It’s unbelievable the amount of money people just pays to be in the stadium watching the games. All these things show us the influence of sports in American culture. People just put aside what they are doing and follow the sport. I think that sports influence in American culture has a lot of positive aspects. Sports helps you stay out of drugs, it really does.
