...at in much of America, there is no racial purity. Many throughout history have tried to keep their race pure by banning interracial marriages. Others, like Hitler in Germany tried to exterminate other races and beliefs. Not only would some kill off other races, they would discriminate against women, and those with mental and physical disabilities. Another thing that has struggled throughout has been the structure of the family. It is shown that two parent families have steadily declined, leaving one parent to shoulder the load of raising a family. Most of the time it is the mother left raising the children. Only 3-5% of the time is it the father who is the sole parent left in the home. On rare occasions the children are left with no parent. Another reason for the demise of the family structure, has been the emergence of homosexuality. Now, same sex marriages are increasing and becoming legal in a few places. When it comes to social class, in the past, if you were born into a certain class, you remained there. For example, if you were born into a poor impoverished family, the odds are you would remain impoverished. The same goes for a child born into wealth. Overall, almost 1 in 5 children live in poverty. It is even worse for blacks and hispanics where the rate is over 1 in 4. In history, white males often make more money than other races and also women.
