Music is everything
...It can be just words or continuous noises. Music is essentially relative. It is everywhere but is never the same anywhere. Music is math, science, and literature combined. Whether it is the undulating and ornate scales heard from a violin or just the percussion of pedestrians’ feet clomping on a cement sidewalk, it is all music. I think that music is vital in life and life in itself is important. In the words of Friedrich Nietzsche, “Without music, life would be a mistake.” To begin with, music allows me to communicate and convey feelings that I am unable to show. For example, when I want to show my girlfriend how much I love her, at times I feel as if my own words do not do my emotions any justice, I will send her a letter with lyrics from a song that I think illustrates how I feel. Saying, “I love you,” to me, is just so ordinary and common. Flowery lyrics can make someone feel warm and loved. “If I don’t need you, then why am I crying on my bed? If I don’t need you, Then why does your name resound in my head?” Giving a loved one a lyrical stanza like the one above can make them feel undoubtedly special and unique. I think that it is a lot sweeter to hear those words than just “I think you are great, Girlfriend.” Musical lyrics can stir a person’s inner sensations.
