The type used in Bram Stoker’s “Dracula” had the victims bitten several times over a short period. From the loss of blood, the bi-stander became ill and grew worse with each minute of the day. The appearance of he or she would become sickly and began with a pale face, slight dementia, and strange behavior. The wounds would heal and then mysteriously re-open. Another example contained in the movie “Queen of the Damned”; starring Stuart Townsend. His character was abducted by a vampire, he was not aware of the condition of his abductor. When Townsend awoke, he was greeted by an unfamiliar man in a strange place. After doing a little convincing, the new acquaintance bit Townsend, and then forced him to drink the blood of his abductor. Townsend’s body dies moments later, but is resurrected by the super natural blood flowing through his vein. He then lives through the centuries in the shadows planning his eternity. From what is shown in the movies, being bitten is not the painful experience I would assume. The facial expressions projected, show slight discomfort but never gratifying pain.
