Though both have a great product developed with meticulous detail, on the McCallie campus, one seems to have a clear upper hand. Since its debut during the 2000 Christmas season, PS2 has maintained its popularity among gamers. "PS2 has the greatest graphics, and the games are so realistic. I love everything from the effortless controls to the way it says, ‘EA Sports. It’s in the game,’ during the introduction," says tenth grade day student, Cliff Redish. The PS2 is also holding all the cards when it comes to extra hardware perks. Almost all the compact disc-based consoles have had the added functions of a music CD player, but the Playstation 2 also features a built-in DVD player. Sony took full advantage of this system as their second generation by adding in the backwards compatibility with PS1 games, a huge advantage for people who never owned the original. Throw in the fact that "PS2 has more games because the designers are all flocking to it," as ninth grader, John Klagstad, stated, and the image of an extremely well rounded and well exposed game-system begins to appear.
