globalization is predotory

... when the predatory globalization comes into place. In this case, the powerful, rich nation will most likely use its’ great political influence in the world stage to make policies to force the poor nation in the South to follow and play by its’ rules and become part of the nation. Another example can be seen through the United States after the tragic events of September 11th. After the terrorist attacks on the United States on September 11th, the Americans made some significant changes in its’ policies in order to protect itself. As President George W. Bush told the world that a country is either with us or against us. We all know that the United States is the most powerful nation in the history. It is a hegemony not like any other hegemonic power we have ever seen in the past, whether it is Hitler’s Germany, the Soviet Union, or Napoleon. Even though most nations in today’s society do not agree with many ideas and systems the Americans have, they are still compel to follow the rules and policies set by the U.S. hegemony, go to the war in Iraq and many other issues, because that’s the only way that would benefit them and allow them to not be an obstacle in United States’ way to its’ world dominance. Economic is another key factor that globalization is dealing with, as we usually hear the term “Global Economy”. In today’s society, the global economy system is gradually losing its’ way of maintaining orders and policies that are significant factors of keeping the markets from different states stable and balance. At the same time, many organizations that are set up to help build the global economy are also missing their goals. One example is shown through the IMF, the International Monetary Funds. The IMF was set up at a conference in New Hampshire in 1944. Its’ goal was to prevent another “Great Depression” to happen in our global economic system. The IMF was suppose to lend money to stabilize the exchange rates, however, as time went on the organization started protecting the private sectors and individuals from bad investments. Eventually this lead to a great amount of dislocation in both employment and production, the IMF became an organization that helped the rich get richer, and did not do anything for the poor. Another major problem the global economic system is having is that the small companies from the third world countries are often not being able to compete with the big multi-national cooperation. This dilemma further demonstrates the predatory system of globalization. It is simply because that the multi-national cooperation have the money to go to other countries where there is cheap labors and cheap costs of resources, and often they are subsidies by the government, which results in low price for their goods. On the other hands, those hard working small companies have to pay higher cost, because they do not have any support, even though they help the domestic economy and produce great goods, as a result of highly competitive market and consumer behaviors, these companies eventually go out of business. The wheat farm subsidies by the American companies and the aerospace and arm companies are just a few among those who are supported by the government. In today’s economic world, the market is being rigged by the powerful nations and multi-national cooperation, it is not about producing great goods, the only way business can stay running is by reducing its’ cost and maintain the power to control the market. The environmental and cultural...
