PHYSICS MEASUREMENT
...gth of an object is the Vernier caliper. This device far exceeds the ability of the meter stick, when making precise measurements. I have demonstrated with a graph in this report that contains the percent difference between the two devices when measuring the same objects. Three of the objects have a slight difference; however the octagon shows a much larger difference. For the most part the Vernier caliper made smaller and more precise measurements of the same objects. The random errors in this lab showed most in the meter stick. The meter stick had graduations in millimeters but because some of the objects were odd shaped it was hard to get an exact measurement. The personal errors showed up the most in this lab when the stopwatch was used to time an object falling from 10cm. The fall of the object was so short that I am sure the result were distorted by the reaction time of my self and my partner. Also in the line of personal error there wa...
