We realize that sometimes you can be late picking your child up due to emergency or other circumstances. Please take notice that we are a performing arts center and we are not responsible for baby-sitting children. There is no one on staff to watch your children if they are left at the studio unattended. Absolutely no siblings or friends of dancers may be left in the studio without parental supervision. Due to our location, we are at a very busy intersection. Make sure your child/children are supervised when crossing the street or instructed on safe crossing procedures, including walking to the corner and crossing only when the pedestrian crossing sign is lit and look all ways. There is a Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin Robbins store across the street and we know this can be very inviting. We want to ensure all students’ safety at all times. Dance Center is not responsible for students who leave the premises. CLASS OBSERVATION: Please keep in mind that this is a learning environment. Students can be distracted very easily, especially younger ones. Families and friends that wait should remember to keep their voices low while classes are in session. Children are not allowed to stand on chairs, run, or do any tumbling in the waiting room. If there are young ones that cannot wait quietly, it is best they be taken for a walk or run errands with you during class time. Further, please avoid distracting the students through the observation windows. STUDENT INFORMATION FILES: Each student at Dance Center will have a folder in the filing cabinet in the waiting area. The folders will be organized alphabetically by last name of the student. This folder is where students will receive all information and handouts. We will not be sending notes in the mail. It is your family’s responsibility to check this folder every time you attend class. If you need an extra copy of any of the information ask the front desk for additional copies. These folders will you keep you informed of all events and happenings at the studio, it is important that you check your folders and retrieve the handouts often. STUDIO CONVENIENCES: Due to many students spending lengths of time at the studio, we offer a kitchen area with a small fridge, microwave, toaster, and an electric can opener. We would appreciate if small children did not use these appliances without parental supervision. A study area will also be provided for the students where they can relax QUIETLY or do homework. There is a refrigerated drinking fountain, and we will also be selling bottled water at the front desk. We have two bathrooms; the one that contains the shower will be reserved for staff and students 14 and up.
