Despite harsh criticism and problems that were piling up against him Truman had come out with two significant proposals and a resolution to a Berlin issue. The first of the two proposals was the Truman Doctrine, which was enforced when the Soviets had unfairly been controlling more countries it had subjugated during World War Two. Since Turkey and Greece seemed like vulnerable targets the US had sent naval forces to the ocean near Turkey to keep it from being potentially overrun and then later Greece gained US protection as well.
