...n working there had been giving her just a lot bit more attention due to the attraction she had brought to the work environment. At first the men there were being polite by asking her to coffee, lunch, and etc. In most cases my mom took there offer thinking that they were just being friendly. As the weeks progressed my mom and her male associates were becoming more comfortable around each other. They were starting to tell jokes and sharing some clean laughs. However, as the weeks progressed the men began to get too close to my mom and began flirting with her. My mom took precaution by telling the men that she was married, and had 2 children. The males however, still perused my mom as their flirting started to become out of control. It came to the point where one of them grabbed my mom’s behind. Thus, she told her female boss of what was going on and later on that week that male associate was fired. That experienced alone gave my mom a new understanding of what sexual harassment can bring to a work environment. However, till this day she feels that men at the work place can be intimidating because some men are so forceful will not take no for an answer. Although she encourages for men and women to be comfortable and friendly to each other around, there is always that fine line of being to comfortable and too friendly.
