The first product in the five piece system is the Renewing Cleanser. The Renewing Cleanser is an oil-free formula that penetrates and unclogs pores, attacks bacteria, and exfoliates dead cells and impurities. Its key ingredients include: Benzoyl Peroxide, an acne fighting chemical; Sodium Hyaluronate; Polyethylene, small round beads that remove dead skin cells; and Chamomile Extract, a soothing botanical extract. You rub a dime-sized amount of Renewing Cleanser on your dampened face in a circular motion for about thirty seconds. You then rinse and follow with product two. The second product is the Revitalizing Toner. It is an alcohol-free formula that removes dead skin cells, helps remove excess oil, balances your skin tone, and prepares your skin for the third product in the Proactiv® series. Its ingredients include: aloe vera, for softening; chamomile extract, to soothe; witch hazel extract, a skin refresher and astringent; Panthenol, a moisturizer; and Allantoin, which stimulates the growth of healthy tissue. To apply the toner, squeeze just enough on a cotton ball to slightly soak it. Gently wipe all over your face. Allow the toner to dry before proceeding with the third step. The third product is the Repairing Lotion. It is a light, oil-free lotion that heals blackheads and blemishes without irritation. It also prevents future acne Deslonde 3 breakouts. The key ingredients of the Repairing Lotion are Benzoyl Peroxide, Panthenol, and Allantoin. The Repairing Lotion is the last step in the daily three piece system. A dime-sized amount should be rubbed all over the face and allowed to dry. The fourth and fifth products in my Proactiv® system are the Oil-Free Moisturizer and the Refining Mask. The Oil-Free Moisturizer is a light lotion that leaves your skin soft and won’t clog pores. It contains SPF 15 making it ideal for use when you are going outdoors. You can use a small amount of the Oil-Free Moisturizer daily as needed. The Refining Mask is a mask made of sulfur, which is known for its oil absorbing properties. The Refining Mask is the only product that doesn’t need to be used daily to be effective. You only need to use it about two times a week. You apply enough of the product to cover your entire dampened face, except for the area around your eyes and mouth. You let the product sit for ten minutes and then rinse it off. On the days you do use the mask, apply it after the first product in the series and then resume with product two.
