Illustrative Essay

...errorist act. In September 11th 2002 when two planes taken over by terrorists collided with the two buildings killing more people than Pearl Harbor. All of these terrorist attacks just come to show us the new threat to the world and the terror that they produce is becoming more destructive. The purpose of this essay is to illustrate why I think it is crucial that the united states take control of Iraq from the terrorists. The United States led an invasion into Iraq in March 2003, taking the capital Baghdad within weeks. Yet there has been no proof that Saddam has any weapons of mass destruction. But it is imperative that we eliminate all of the terrorists such as Bin Laden and Saddam’s regime. If the terrorists in Iraq are not reckoned with then Iraq will become a terrorist haven and the rest of the world will be subject to terrorist acts of larger scale than before. Although this is costing the us billions of dollars we must not give up now, because in the long run it will be very beneficial to our country’s future and people. If the U.S did not retaliate against terrorism then the U.S would become weaker and weapons of mass destruction would be our biggest threat. His pardoning probably contributed to acts of terrorism in the future, such as the 9/11 attacks that they could have been a part of or they were added to the terrorist army in Iraq, which we are fighting against. After the September 11th terrorist attacks the hunt began for Bin Laden and his regime. Bin Laden soon after, fled to Iraq where Saddam harbored him and his terrorist regime and many other terrorists who have committed acts of destruction. Even though we couldn’t find any weapons of mass destruction, we did find remains of what could have been where weapons of mass destruction were, and could be made. The major terrorist attacks had a large impact on the U.S and the worlds society. Our views on fighting terrorism has shifted from a defensive point of view into an offensive approach. We must attack before we are attacked. Even though many of our soldiers are putting their lives on the line, when the war on terror is over the United States economical stance will be much better. Also world trade of exports and imports will be more productive and will also boost up the United States economy. Some people say the only reason we are fighting in Iraq is for the oil that it produces, these people are very ignorant in thinking that. Granted it does produce a very large amount of the worlds oil. When gas prices went up a dollar w...
