...iven our current knowledge of WWI and WWII. The film gives a perspective unknown to people like myself who weren’t alive back then, and for this a documentary like this is very important. I enjoy how the film gives a perspective of what would be had the war not happened and the U.S. not gotten involved. In comparison to other films by Capra, although similar in style, it shows a different side of Capra’s film making that I had never been exposed to.For our second film of the day we watched “Silverlake Life: A View from Here” by Joslin and Friedman. This film was a powerful look into lives of Mark Massi and Tom Joslin, who both were living and dying with AIDS. The film is shot with a video diary style which gives and intimate look into their lives, while stressing the struggle of living in society with AIDS.
