My Book Review of “The Killers”
...eature of the story is that the whole passage is composed of dialogues. Thy author uses conversation to reveal the background of the story and characters’ personification. The dialogues are short and he uses simple language. The story takes place in Summit, an unknown but dangerous small town. We can acquire this information through the conversation between the two killers. “This is a hot town”, “Ever heard of it?”, “No”. And there is an interesting dialog at the beginning of the story, when the killers enter into the lunchroom and they keep ordering dinner, although George told them that they couldn’t get it until six o’clock. This design makes me amused at first, but after finish reading the whole story, I totally understand that getting something to eat is not what they are there for. They are concerned about the murdering. I believe they do not really listen. Furthermore, it can be concluded that George doesn’t actually frightened.
