...awing all I saw. The first color that hit my pad was the shade lightest shade of brown, the sand. The sand was contradictory, coarse but smooth as it hit between your toes. The sand was simple, all one shade and not much complexity to it. The white foam that traveled along the sand, a clear mist, blue waves, it was all one, one being- the ocean. The ocean would be harder to duplicate on paper, it had so many different colors to it. The wave would form and be a beautiful blue and when it would crash, it would create a pure white foam, that produced a clear spray. The mixture of blues, greens and whites that the different depths of the water produced, would form the many colors needed to create the picture that would help remind me of long summer days on the beach.. Sitting on the beach and trying to capture this beauty is difficult, painting is hard, but not in the physical way, although I could feel drips of sweat running down the sides of my face.
