...l downloading is a considerable issue when it’s claimed destroying artists value. “The motion-picture industry estimated that it loses $3 Billion in revenue annually to piracy. The music industry estimates that it loses $4 billion per year.” (Glanz, 2004 pg1) the outcome of the piracy discourages the artists to make music that’s going to affect the American culture. On the second level, it will affect the customers. If the illegal downloading continues, the entertainment corporations need to vitally increase the price of the product in order to meet their profit. On the third level, it will destroy the U.S entertainment industry and eventually corrupt our culture. Because of the increasing price, the customers will download more and corporations will raise the value again. That cycle will diminish the industry and soon will get deconstructed. Some of the problems we face now are caused by the change of our structure in society. Understanding these changes will help us finding the answer to the solution. Due to tremendous technology advance, it is easy enough to recognize that technology reached Hollywood. The remarkable innovations made our life more comfortable and enjoyable due to the flourishing tech-products. But invention of mp3 and P2P (peer-to-peer: a program to connect computer servers) sites downsize of the industry. It is personal problem for music artists that people are downloading his/her music. But on the greater level, that discourages artists who are trying to make good music because lack of profit, which we can that they can no longer produce any music. Also, all the individuals revolving that business will lose job, which will not only cost economic downsize but loss of our culture. Perhaps, we will face cold hearted people with no sentimental human values. People need to realize that downloading licensed products is illegal.
