Against Cloning
...fects were attributed to the cloning process. The discovery of an abnormality may take up to 20 years. Cloning as another human product is subject to error, and even if a string of healthy clones are born, the likelihood that many clones born in future may have medical problems. (human cloning foundation, 1998). The second reason that urges ceasing human cloning is the inefficiency of animal cloning. Reproductive cloning is highly inefficient as studies had showed. More than 90% of cloning failed to produce offspring. This argument is based on the fact that most of the cloned animals have a weak immune function and higher rates of infection, tumor growth, and others disorders. Physicians from the American Medical Association and scientists with the American Association for the Advancement of Science have stated that many cloned animals had died prematurely from infections and complication. Scientist expected to have the same problems with human cloning and they did not know how cloning could effect mental development. while this mental development disorder may not be as important for cows and mouse as they are for human beings secondary to the complex life that human lives. “Japanese studies have shown that cloned mice lived in poor health and died early. About a third of the cloned calves born alive have died young, and many of them were abnormally large“. Many cloned animals have not lived long enough to generate good data about how clones age. According to American Medical Association and scientists with the American Association for the Advancement of Science stated that Appearing healthy at a young age unfortunately is not a good indicator of long term survival being. Due to the many unexpected results from the human cloning, scientists considered human cloning very dangerous and ethically irresponsible at this time. Another reason to stop human cloning is the emotional risk. A cloned child faces multiple challenges, especially in the emotional aspect of life. For a child whose cloned relative was cloned, the family make up may include a mother who is his/ her sister, and a grandmother who is her/ his mother a cloned daughter may become somewhat concerned/ depressed when she watches her older appearance as she looks at her mother. This may lead to an identity problem. Relationships may be compromised in he essence of that a father sees his wife’s clone grow up into exact physical appearance of the beautiful young women who he loved in his early years. As well, a child maybe placed in an uncomfortable position when his dead father is cloned. While cloning may be able to replicate a physical function of providing a father figure, the relationship a child may develop wi...
