...domly selected girls and composed a bio along with a picture of each girl. The bio consisted of questions such as their age, hometown, activities, hobby’s, favorite food, etc. Secondly, we surveyed ten random guys. First, we had the ten guys rate the girls 1-10 based on their Bios only, then had the same guys rated the girls based on just their picture, lastly we had them rate the girls based on their bio and picture combined. The third step in our study was gathering all our information and averaging all the ratings of each girl (just bio, just picture and both combined). In the fourth step we took each individual average of each girl and combined them to get the total averages, so now we had one number for the bio, one number for the picture and one number for both together. Lastly, we took each one of our averages and plotted them on a bar graph, one graph including each individual girl (they should each have a bar for their picture, bio and both). Then we created a second bar graph for the total averages. There were significant results when we asked the question, what is most influential in what a guy finds attractive? We predicted our Ha to be: appearance is what is most influential in what a guy finds attractive, and our Ho to be: appearance is not most influential in what a guy finds attractive. We used a bar graph to show the following results: In the graph below it includes the average rating for each girl based on her picture only, bio only and both put together. As you can see there is a significant increase in the overall rating of a girl when she is considered to be attractive. Also, when a girl is rated good on her bio alone and not so good on her picture, there is a significant decrease when the 2 are put together (ex. Girl #4). This proved our Ha to be true.
