Should Convicted Felons Be Eligible For Parole
Through the years, the rules and requirements for parolees have been a major issue with Americans because many people think parole should be abolished while others believe in keeping parole to give convicted felons a second chance on life. Those who do believe in abolishing parole want a safer environment, and they think the abolishment of parole is the answer. ... Parole gives the decent convicted felons a reason to be well behaved, so they can get out and make things better for themselves and their families. Even if the right steps are taken, parole for dangerous convicted felons can help them slowly and safely work their way back into society. Our law defines parole as the release of a prisoner from prison by an order from a parole officer or a member of the parole board. In 1976, the federal parole system was broadly revised by the United State Congress in the two acts of Parole Commission and Reorganization Act.
