...ylonian exile that Hebrews became a monotheistic society. They devoted all of their trust and support to a single God, who they believed and obeyed greatly. This one God was seen by them as a creator; as the one who “created heaven and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). However not seen as a creator, the candidate was accepted by society as a savior. As the only one who could give them their promised land back. Parallelism between the candidate and the second Hebrew king, King David, can be traced because the candidate’s ideas were similar to those of the King of gathering Israel’s tribes under absolute monarchy. It was after this happening back in the Hebrew days that the conflicts between tribes ended, and it is for this reason that people are looking forward for the candidate’s government to take action. Showing also ample loyalty before God’s laws, the candidate became even more popular after presenting his mighty respect for nature to the society. Similar to the Hebrews, people still value natural resources wisely. Based on Hebrew literature, one can see that the candidate achieved high popularity because of the comforting words used in his speeches. In trying to calm down society and induce people into trusting him, the candidate used metaphoric language, referring to the public as “sheep” and to himself as their “shepherd” (Psalm 23). These w...
