Right and Wrong

...ide and not considered wrong but bad. Considering something a bad choice and it to be wrong is usually considered when a public figure is involved. These people are revered so highly by people that something that they do is wrong by someone’s own standards is accepted because they are a public figure. In doing this people can compromise any teachings of right and wrong that they have gave their children. Also by doing this it shows children that it is ok to do something their parents think is wrong, because a celebrity did it, it is ok. As Bennett says in “Introduction from The Book of Virtues” “ It has been said that there is nothing more influential, more determinant, in a child’s life than the moral power of quiet example.”(25) This says that for a child to have good morals on what is right and wrong a parent needs to show by example. The only way for them to decide is for one of them to change their beliefs. As Heschel says in “The Spirit of Judaism” “We may except it or reject it, but we should not distort it.”(148). Heschel is saying that you should except something or reject it never change it. In this quote it says we should never change our beliefs, but if we don’t right and wrong will no longer be able to be distinguished from each other even if they are out own beliefs. There are many different ways of thinking of what is right and wrong. Along with peoples beliefs it can also be someone’s culture that effect what they think is right and wrong.
