Integrity: A Rare Gem
...f integrity. If a person has integrity, good for them. They possess a quality that hardly anyone today has, but if they don’t have knowledge, what good is it? If a person can’t make a difference with the integrity they own, it is useless. But if a person has knowledge, and can be powerful with it, but possesses no integrity, then he/she isn‘t that powerful. A knowledgeable, but dishonest person, can be heartless and dangerous, cold. So it is not just integrity that is important, it is knowledge. Having both the qualities of integrity and knowledge, would make someone ideal, but no one is “perfect.” Every living person has a way that they want their lives to be, and most people would want that life to be as perfect as possible. Being self-aware and honest is key to being a “good” person. But is it okay to settle for just “good?” Should we always strive for perfection, even though we know we will never be perfect? The answer is yes. Why should we not want to be as perfect as possible? Granted, just because a person holds integrity, doesn’t mean they hold perfection, but integrity is a big step.
