The Workplace

...as efficiently as the experienced employees should. So when this quiet, little blonde girl, Amanda, was hired, I seemed to get a bad attitude towards her. Surprisingly enough though, she was not as bad as I had once thought. She caught on to everything that was shown to her the first time. We also have many of the same things in common. We share the same interests and beliefs. We instantly became the best of friends. Because of her friendship and persuasion, I made one of the biggest decisions in high school. I decided to change schools in the middle of my junior year. Without her loyalty, I never would have been able to endure the switch. She is one of the most special people in my life. Without her to talk to, I would have a very difficult time dealing with those few certain customers. Many of the other employees there, past and present, hold a dear place in my heart. I always have someone to talk to when something is bothering me. There is always a shoulder to cry on or a smile to brighten up your day. No matter how bad you think something may be, someone is always there to show you the positive side of the situation. Many new friendships have begun and memories made. I never could have ever known that I would meet my best friend at work. The customers are also great. I have made some friends through the daily customers. The customers also contribute to the carefree atmosphere. There is no need to be formal with them. They enter the store laughing and talking and expect us to do the same. Their lightheartedness tends to rub off onto us. There is not routine to follow, nothing to really worry about. Our boss is also the same way. He expects us to be polite, courteous and interact with the customers. He also allows us to do many things that most other employers would not allow. We are able to joke around and have fun even while we are on the clock. After closing, he has no problem when we are a little carried away with the water and get into our famous water fights. The only downside to that is we have to clean up our own messes. There really are not too many things that need to be worried about. Really, the only thing that I have to worry about is making a sundae wrong, accidentally changing the recipes, or dropping the ice cream. Nevertheless, all of these things have a sweet finale. If something is made wrong, I have the chance to eat it. That is one of my favorite reasons for working at Baskin Robbins. There are endless sweet rewards. I have the ability to eat as much ice cream as I want. Many times when you come into the store,...
