Sound of the sea and In computer
... of our life. Both poems have different contrast in style, imagery, and rhyme about life in general. Logefellow’s poem describes the sound of the sea as the waves lap against the shore and the tide rises. He compares the rush of the tide to rushes of inspiration people experience sometimes. He also suggests that those inspirations might be a way of divine "foreshadowing and foreseeing"(13) as opposed to the regularity with which the tide rises. Just like the tide of the sea, the tide of the soul is beyond our control as well. In Lightman’s poem describes the closeness between computer and our daily life. He shows an example of how sun and plants related with each other and leads to its point of how technology gets involve with our life. He shows how nature “Blend of sunset over wheat fields” (3-4) related together to its life spin, where plants must needed sun light for its growth.
