Socrates was considered to be a paradigmatic or archetypal individual; which is rare human beings whose very nature represents something elemental about the human condition. Socrates was known to have pore hygiene and to be very unattractive. People viewed him to be annoying and classified him as a gad fly because he was always in people’s faces preaching for what he believed in. Socrates perfected style of philosophical inquisition known as the Socratic Method or dialectic. This dialectic consists of a series of questions that continually refines the ideas under scrutiny. The use of irony was used to persuade active listening by his pupils and dialectical partners. The ironic expression is a way of communication that has a least two level of meaning.
