...ed out of things. He knew he wanted everything accomplished in three years. Though he knew not a lot of his work was well known he never doubted that it wouldn’t be. He believed that over time god would see his work and that it would be recognized by heaven. He felt that now that King Wen died he was left with everything on his shoulders. He felt he had a great responsibility that he had to carry out. He found himself disappointed in heaven for taking one of his closest companions. Over all Confucius found himself very content in what he wanted. His love of learning was unparallel, and had everything planned out about his education. He has always known just what he would learn when and how it would be taught. “At Fifteen, I set my heart on learning. At thirty, I was firmly established. At forty, I had no doubts. At fifty, I knew the will of Heaven. At sixty, I was ready to listen to it. At seventy, I could follow my heart’s desire without transgressing what was right.” So you see everything Confucius said he did and everything he did he said. I didn’t find him to be a very spontaneous man. Through his teaching he was re-united with his love of music, never truly realizing how beautiful it really was. From this part I got that he learned well from his mistakes. He took what he saw in others and strengthened it or changed it in himself. He molded himself to the perfect man in his eyes. He knew his strengths and weaknesses and worked on them to their potential. He often compares himself to ancient people he studies. By reading this I see he didn’t really believe in thinking a great deal about things but more about just learning them to begin with. He also didn’t believe in gloating when you are right.
