GIS facilitates any health related analysis immensely. Various databases can be layered together to gain quick and accurate answers. Although GIS is critical for health organizations, it requires trained professionals who must have in-depth experience with it. Just one aspect of GIS, geocoding i.e., may take months for an average person to master and requires full commitment. But we are proud to say that our GIS team has trained professionals (database administrator, programmers, GIS analyst, and interns) who are involved with every aspect of a GIS. Our GIS team has taken the responsibility of making GIS useful for anyone in the DHMH. Our passion, handwork and commitment have led to development of Interactive Health App. (IHA). IHA is significant in terms that it is designed to carryout some of the key features of a GIS, yet it is easy enough to learn within a few hours as opposed to several months.
